TQR industry Consortium
(Textile Quick Response consortium)
The
consortium TQR rose for the creation of a common data exchange platform via
XML for the textile row. The main objective was to let the firms the automation
of technical and managemant data exchanges, and a more tight integration of the
production processes in order to increase efficiency-efficacy of all productive
rings, in other hands, to improve the client services.
Common
format and protocol are based on accepted sectorial standards for trasactions
B2B (ebXML, TexSpin, Moda-ML) and the goal is to provide the firms of an open
comunication architecture, known by other potenzial parthners, mantaining the
indipendence of the enterprises system.
In 2002 a
project (TQR) financed by the Ministry (law 388) started thanks to the
partecipation of every kind of firm involved in the textile row, from carding to
dyeing, from spinning mill to weaving mill, from finishing to logistics. The
project duration was 24 month and its objectives were to give a signal of
acceleration of the technologic development way for textile firms in Biella and
not only.
About 40
Biella’s firms joined the pool at first representing the textile row upper part,
so centred on wool weaving mills and their suppliers and third party firms,
including logistic services.
On a new
project (AIR), in 2003 some firms, representing the lower part of the textile
row, joined the pool, enlarging to 62 the number of the firms, for 1.600 Meuro
sales overall and 8.500 employees.
The synergy
with the pre-existing project (TQR) allows to complete and consolidate the
creation of an information exchange channel along the whole textile row, from
yarn to the sale.
A second
important side is the effort to promote collaborative and integrative processes
between all the actors of the textile row. Under this prospective, sharing
common models of business is required, as well as a right information exchange
sequences with an unique language for all messages system.
Along this
direction, activities of analysis of the collaborative models and all the
possible methods to interface them to pre-existing enterprise system is very
important as well as formation and training activities.
